Prompting Tips: Precision Meets Aesthetic Control

Be Specific. Be Visual.

When crafting prompts—especially for models, garments, or moodboards—think like a stylist or a cinematographer. Specify every key element: model features (e.g. coily black hair, natural makeup), garment structure (cropped wool blazer, oversized lapels, tortoise buttons), and materials (sheer chiffon, crushed satin, heavy denim). Don’t stop at the clothes—define the lighting (diffused skylight, studio flash from left), setting (concrete runway, textured plaster wall), and overall vibe (90s minimalism, hyper-feminine streetwear).

Use Descriptive, Not Directive Language.

Avoid command terms like “add” or “change.” Instead, write in immersive, descriptive language that sets the scene. Think of your prompt as the caption to a fashion editorial—not an instruction manual. Repeating key visual ideas helps reinforce concepts with image models like Flux and Stable Diffusion.

Anchor Your Style References.

To guide output with a clear creative direction, name specific visual inspirations:

  • Haider Ackermann silhouette with Grace Coddington styling

  • Lookbook-style, shot like a Zara editorial

  • Studio lighting, Vogue Italia moodboard

Kenna supports advanced image prompting.  The more intentional your words, the more production-ready your output becomes.

    3. Negative Prompting. This will let Kenna know that you do not want these elements In your creation. For example if you DO NOT want to see gold hardware, type “gold hardware” into the negative prompt text box.

    4. Guidance. The guidance slider controls how closely your image follows to your prompt. If you want Kenna to have more creative control, place the guidance slider on the lower end of the scale. If you want Kenna to be more strict and precise to your prompt, raise your guidance slider higher on the scale.

    5. Randomize Button (dice button). This button will create a random prompt for you to try.

    6. Prompt Suggestor. If your prompt does not meet the minimum requirements for a good output, Kenna will suggest a more advanced prompt. See example below of a user simply typing “a pair of jeans” in the positive prompt section. Kenna prompt suggestion is “pair of high-waisted distressed denim jeans, ripped knees, frayed hem, comfortable fit, relaxed straight leg, soft wash”

7. Adjust additional settings. Control aspect ratio and image count: render 2,4, or 6 images in square, landscape, portrait, or custom sizes. NOTE: the higher the image count, the longer it will take to render your images.

8. Styles. Below the guidance tool is Kenna styles. The style options will guide your output. (e.g. mood board, lifestyle photography, patterns, product imagery, vector art, and other stylistic choices)
